Atom Arc 7018-M is an E7018M all-position low hydrogen electrode specially formulated to meet the more stringent requirements of Military Specification MIL-E-0022200/10.
Atom Arc 7018-M is an all-position low hydrogen electrode specially formulated to meet the more stringent requirements of Military Specification MIL-E-0022200/10 for mechanical properties, coating moisture and diffusible hydrogen content. Atom Arc 7018-M was intended for welding carbon steels, as well as high tensile steels, such as Grade HT of MIL-S-16113 and MIL-S-22698. It is also used for attachment welds to HY-80 and HY-100.

Preheat is generally not required with Atom Arc 7018-M to prevent underbead cracking. Preheat should be used with hardenable steels to prevent the formation of hard heat-affected zones and eliminate tendencies toward quench cracking on cooling. Preheat may also be required in welding heavy sections.
