Coreshield 8-Ni1 is a self-shielded flux-cored wire designed to produce welds with outstanding impact toughness at temperatures as low as -60°F (-51°C).
Coreshield 8-Ni1 is a self-shielded flux cored wire designed to produce welds with outstanding impact toughness at temperatures as low as -60°F (-51°C). It is suitable for all position welding including vertical down, and is especially suited for making root passes or handling poor fit up. It should only be run on DCEN (electrode negative). Coreshield 8-Ni1 can be used for welding offshore structures, bridges, storage tanks, and other applications where excellent impact toughness is specified and where self-shielding provides an advantage. It is also good for weathering grades of steels where color match is an important consideration.
