SUREWELD SW-612

Sureweld SW-612 is an E6012 all-position rutile electrode that is suitable for mild steel applications including poor fit-up welding.

Features

Sureweld SW-612 is a multi-purpose rutile electrode that retains the advantage of poor fit-up welding and convex bead along with the smooth arc of iron powder. It also takes high amperage of production welding. Weld deposit has excellent mechanical properties. SW-612 can be used on all mild steels. Typical applications include truck bodies, trailers, tanks, farm machinery and auto parts.

Procedure

  • With the electrode tilted 5° to 15° in the direction of travel, hold a short arc or lightly touch coating to work holding sufficient current so electrode does not stick. For vertical welding, weld from the bottom up for heavy beads and from the top down for small beads.
