ARCALOY Plus 309L-17

Arcaloy 309L-17 Plus electrodes utilize a heavy coating to maximize performance in the flat and horizontal position. Usable on AC or DC current.

Features

Arcaloy 309L-17 Plus electrodes have a heavy coating and produce a concave bead with minimal ripple. The slag is virtually self-cleaning. For welding carbon steel to stainless steel for service below about 600°F (315ºC) and for the first layer when cladding.

Extra Info

Arcaloy 309L-17 Plus electrodes are designed to produce a concave bead with minimum ripple and the slag is virtually self-releasing. They produce undiluted weld metal with a higher ferrite content than the Arcaloy 309L-15 and 309L-16 electrodes. Arcaloy 309L-17 Plus electrodes are used for welding carbon and low alloy steels to stainless steels provided the temperature does not exceeed about 600ºF (315ºC). They can be used for the first layer of 308L cladding.
