Extra Info

Arcaloy 309/309H-16 electrodes are used for welding Type 309 and similar stainless steels for higher temperature service. In these applications, greater strength is required and a limited quantity of ferrite. They can also be used to weld low alloy to stainless steel dissimilar joints where a lower ferrite content is desired and is acceptable. In the latter case, the service temperature should not exceed 700ºF (370ºC). The basic-rutile thin coating of Arcaloy 309/309H-16 gives an excellent combination of welding performance in all positions and a high resistance to cracking. It is therefore a good choice for a multitude of welding applications including tight joints.
