ARCALOY ER347

Arcaloy ER347 is a columbium stabilized stainless steel for welding types 347and 321 stainless, come in MIG, TIG, and SAW forms. Can be used in combination with OK Flux 10.93, 10.94, and/or 10.95.

Features

Arcaloy ER347 is designed for welding types 321 and 347, when the service temperature is below 600°F (316°C). Used where service conditions require maximum resistance to corrosion.

Arcaloy ER347 is a solid wire and is for welding stainless steel Types 304, 321 and 347. It may be successfully used for the welding of Types 304L although Arcaloy ER308L is usually the choice. All 347 filler metals should not be used in service under creep conditions (high stress & high temperature combined).
Depending upon its form, Arcaloy ER347 can be used in the MIG, TIG or submerged arc processes to name the three most common. In the case of the MIG (GMAW), spray, pulse or short-arc modes of transfer are used depending on the gas used. With this process, shielding gases of argon with 1 or 2% oxygen are commonly used for 'spray' and a mixture of 90% helium - 7.5% argon - 2.5% carbon dioxide is used for 'short-arc'. For TIG (GTAW), 100% argon or argon with some helium addtions are used. A flux, such as OK Flux 10.93, is used with the larger sizes of Arcaloy ER308L for submerged-arc welding. There is likely to be some loss of niobium with submerged arc welding.
