Features
Dual Shield 85-C1 is a basic slag multipass flux cored electrode developed to produce weld metal containing nominally 2.5% Ni with excellent mechanical properties and good notch toughness to temperatures as low as -75°F (-60°C). The weld metal meets stringent X-ray standards in both as welded and stress relieved conditions using 100% CO2 shielding gas. The thin cover of slag is easily removed, exposing flat to slightly convex weld beads. Horizontal fillets are slightly convex with equal leg lengths. The weld metal analysis is similar to an E8018-C1 low Hydrogen electrode.
