Extra Info

Recommended for high-strength welds on phosphor bronze materials. This electrode can also be used to join copper and brass. Superior for maintenance repair and fabrication of valve bodies, seats, bearings, bushings, gears, propellers, impeller blades and housings. Often used to replace torch applications for frictional wear on heavier sections.

Procedure

Base metal must be clean and free of all moisture. Do not let electrodes absorb moisture because this causes porosity in the weld. Preheat copper base metals to 700°F (371°C), phosphor bronze to 450°F (232°C). These temperatures must be maintained during welding and between passes. No preheat is necessary when applying to thin copper sections or ferrous metals.
