Maintenance and production welding of mild and low alloy steels All-State Monoweld can be used with all types of AC or DC machines in fabricating or repairing sheet metal, plates, beams, angles, channels and other structures. Since it produces smooth welds with little or no spatter, All-State Monoweld is ideal for welding ornamental iron, railings, furniture and other applications that are to be painted after welding.
Procedure
Clean weld area. Use a short arc with electrode tilted about 15 degrees in the direction of travel. Travel slightly faster than with regular mild steel electrodes. Stringer beads are usually used but in cases involving poor fit-up, weave beads are suggested to permit faster welding without burn through. Slag is easily removed with only light chipping or wire brushing.
