Produces x-ray quality welds on high strength steels and free-machining steels which are usually high in sulphur. Superior resistance to impact. Ideal where subzero properties are required. Smooth arc. Recommended where 100% joint efficiency is required in the "as welded" or "stress relieved" condition. For all applications on T-1 steels as well as the following Tradename quenched and tempered Alloy Steels: HY80 and HY90; Jalloy S-90, S-100, AR-360 and AR-400; SSS-100, 100 AR, 100A and 100A AR; N-A-XTRA 100 and 110; XAR 15 and 30. For boilers, tanks, mill parts, wheels and guides as well as construction, excavating, mining and railway equipment.
Clean weld area. When welding in extreme low temperatures, it is advisable to warm base metal to 60°F (16°C). A short arc must be maintained to produce quality deposits. Remove all slag from previous pass before applying additional passes.
