Welding of tool steels, very high alloy steels, spring steels, stainless steels, pressure vessels, air hardenable steels, dies, nickel clad steels and dissimilar steels.
Procedure
Clean weld area of all foreign material. Preheating 300° - 500°F (149° - 260°C) will help minimize cracking on high alloy steels, tool steels, and stainless steels. Use stringer beads, do not weave and let each bead cool before removing the slag. A medium to short arc should be maintained.
