Excellent bead appearance, good wetting action, low spatter, full yet easy-to-remove slag cover. High travel speed allows higher deposition rate than gas shielded metal arc electrodes. Smooth arc action and weld edges. Applications include: fabrication and repair of machinery parts, truck bodies, saddles, hoppers, scaffolding, joists, clips, etc.
Weld using direct current, electrode negative (DC straight polarity) .035" at 120-130 amps. 16 volts, 176 ipm, 1/2" (12.7mm) stickout. .030" at 100 amps, 16 volts, 190 ipm, 1/2" (12.7mm) stickout. Use V knurled drive rolls. Apply 5° - 15° leading gun angle in all positions. To develop weld bead, do not weave more than 1/4" (6.4mm).
