This AC/DC reverse electrode provides deposits for severe impact on manganese steel, and unkown iron base metals. Resistant to corrosion from water, steam and mild corrosives.

| Typical Mechanical Properties | |
|---|---|
| Tensile Strength | Up to 100 ksi, 70.32 kgs/mm2 |
| Work Hardened | 300 to 400 Brinell |
| Hardness(As Welded) | 200 Brinell |
Smooth weld characteristics. Specially designed for severe impact and multi-pass build-ups on both manganese and iron base alloys. Ideal for joining dissimilar and welding problem steels. Repair and build-up railroad tracks, frogs and switches, for mill, quarry and gravel plant crushing hammers.
Clean weld area. Use All-State Chamfer rod to remove work-hardened and damaged metal. Do not preheat manganese steel. Weld in short lengths 3 to 4 inches (75mm to 100mm)using skip and backstepping welding techniques. Base metal should never reach 600°F (316°C)1/2" (12.7mm) away from weld area. Peen deposits to both shape and reduce stresses. Remove slag between passes. Allow to cool slowly.
