All-State® Sugar 400 is an electrode for preventative maintenance and has been especially designed for applications on the crushers found in sugar mills. It can be applied while the crushers are turning (4-8 rpms) - therefore not having to dismantle the crushers - minimizing
cost of down time as well as labor. This electrode has a globular transfer leaving a rough deposit that is free of slag thus doing away with the need for slag removing equipment. Its arc is sufficiently active to withstand the humidity, the sugar cane bagasse and impurities such as sand, rocks and other materials encrusted in the crushing rolls. It can also be used while the rolls are still and in need of maintenance.

| Typical Mechanical Properties | |
|---|---|
| Hardness | 60-62 Rc |
| Corrosion Resistance | Excellent |
This electrode may be used while crushing rolls are in motion during normal crushing operations
or while the rolls are still for maintenance. It is not necessary to preheat but once welding is
begun, maintain the heat to the base metal to a minimum. Use a slight weaving motion
sufficiently to cover the surface to be hardfaced. You can also use it by applying globular
droplets of metal to the grinding teeth. Use direct current straight polarity (electrode negative).
