Alloy Shield 40S

Alloy Shield 40S is a tubular, composite metal cored subarc wire designed for applications where metal-to-metal resistance is required. It produces nominally a 40-48 Rc hardness as welded when used in combination with 601 Flux after a 4 layer deposit.

Features

The deposit hardness can be reduced and youghness increased by post weld treatment in the 800-1000°F (420-600°C) range. Typical applications include rebuilding of carbon and low alloy steel rollers, idlers, crane wheels and mine car wheels.
