Shield-Bright 410 NiMo

Shield-Bright 410NiMo was specifically designed for welding UNS S41500 wrought stainless steel CA-6NM (UNS J91540) cast steel and other similar 13Cr4NiMo steels commonly found on hydroelectric turbines and other similar applications.

Features

Shield-Bright 410NiMo is an all-positional gas shielded flux cored wire for fabrication and repair of hydroelectric turbine “runners” and other similar applications. Its spray-like transfer enhances the arc characteristics while minimizing post-weld clean up and rework.

The ease of use and “user-friendly” characteristics minimize training while producing consistent quality welds. The self-peeling slag removal and easy post-weld clean up minimize the cost to deposit while improving performance efficiency. This electrode is designed for use with Argon/CO2 shielding gas (75 to 80% Argon, balance CO2). All product is packaged in a “vacuum sealed” foil bag to prevent moisture absorption.

Extra Info

Shield-Bright 410NiMo was specifically designed for welding UNS S41500 wrought stainless steel CA-6NM (UNS J91540) cast steel and other similar 13Cr4NiMo steels commonly found on hydroelectric turbines and other similar applications. These base metals are also being used for wellhead and valve applications under sour-gas conditions in the petroleum industry.

To prevent stress corrosion cracking, the NACE requirement is 23 HRC or below. This usually means the weldments need to be double tempered or annealed and double tempered with intermediate cooling to a least ambient temperature.

The corrosion resistant properties make this an ideal choice for martensitic and martensitic ferritic castings. In addition this electrode is used where cavitation wear is caused by corrosion from rapidly flowing water.

The use of Shield-Bright 410NiMo along with Arcaloy 410NiMo-16 covered electrode and Arcaloy MC410NiMo metal cored products complement each other while providing the fabricator flexibility in his choice of processes.
