Self-Shielded Flux Core

Coreshield self-shielded flux core wires range from formulations for single pass welding of thin gauge steel to all-position, multipass welding and applications demanding high impact toughness. Coreshield wires are popular for use in general fabrication, robotic applications, bridge construction and offshore welding.

Coreshield 40 (70T-4)

Coreshield 40 is a self-shielded flux cored wire primarily designed for multiple pass, horizontal and flat position welding of low and medium carbon steels when toughness is not a requirement.

Coreshield 6 (70T-6)

Coreshield 6 is an E70T-6 self-shielded flux-cored wire designed for flat and horizontal welds requiring Charpy V-notch properties. It is tested and certified to meet the new AWS A5.20 ‘D' designation requirements, making it an excellent choice for demand critical welds when FEMA 353, D1.1 or D1.8 Seismic Supplement is utilized.

Coreshield 7 (70T-7)

Coreshield 7 flux cored wire is a self-shielded wire designed for single or multiple pass welding of mild steel when impact toughness is not a requirement. Ideally suited for structural steel applications.

Coreshield 8 (71T-8)

Coreshield 8 is a self-shielded flux cored wire designed to weld critical structural applications while maintaining excellent arc characteristics and high welder appeal. Coreshield 8 is tested and certified to meet the new AWS D designation requirements, making this self-shielded wire an excellent choice for demand critical welds when the AWS D1.8 Seismic Supplement is utilized.

Coreshield 8-Ni1 is a self-shielded flux-cored wire designed to produce welds with outstanding impact toughness at temperatures as low as -60°F (-51°C).

Coreshield 10 is a self-shielded flux cored welding wire designed for high speed single pass welding of thin gauge carbon, aluminized and galvanized steels.
