SM - 10 Heavy Duty Torch Cutting Machine

The SM - 10 represents more than HALF A CENTURY OF EXPERIENCE in the development, design, and production of a wide range of gas apparatus. The SM - 10 is a multi-purpose 3-axis machine used to cut a variety of shapes and sizes of scrap and production product.

Features

  • Installation is simple since the SM - 10 is designed to ride on a standard "H" - beam section. (Where more precise cutting is required, as in plate slitting, it is readily adaptable to other types of track.)
  • While ruggedly built, the SM - 10 is portable enough to be moved from one shop location to another without difficulty to perform a wide variety of cutting applications.
  • Both longitudinal and transverse cuts can be made. Longitudinal cuts are made parallel to the beam or other track along which the machine travels. Transverse cuts at 90º to the track are made by means of a motorized horizontal tube on which the torch holder is mounted. Machine and tube motion are each reversible, so that cuts may be made in either direction along the line of travel, whether it be longitudinal or transverse.
  • The machine carriage has an adjustable speed range for longitudinal cuts. Only the length of track on which it travels limits length of cut. The transverse tube has the same speed capability. Rapid retraction after a cut is completed is provided by a pushbutton control.
  • A motorized torch holder is mounted on the end of the transverse travel tube for raising and lowering of torch height, up to 70 in. (1778 mm). This also allows for vertical indexing when cutting rounds or odd shapes. (Other height ranges are available on an optional basis).
  • Controls for machine carriage and transverse tube travel, raising and lowering the torch, and ON/OFF flow of fuel gas and preheat and cutting oxygen are all mounted on the machine within easy reach of the operator.
